Introduction

Integrated Design Project (IDP) is implemented in 5th semester. This course requires the students to design an engineering technology project to solve broadly defined problem. Students are encouraged to collaborate with industries in solving real industry problems. The design project activities are executed in a group of four to five students. Students are exposed to project management, project planning, project feasibility study, design selection, design costing and sizing, analysis and evaluation. The appointed Supervisor (academic staff) monitors and guides the students' work progress via a regular meeting and records in the minutes of meetings. The assesment is made based on the demonstration of project functionality, technical report writing and team working. Students are assesed on their ability to do material selections, project scheduling techniques and sustainable development considerttions.
