The Bachelor of Technology in Telecommunications program at UTeM is designed to equip students with a strong foundation in telecommunications technology, ensuring they are well-prepared to meet the evolving needs of the telecommunications industry. With a focus on practical knowledge and industry relevance, this program aims to produce competent telecommunication technologists, ethical professionals, and future leaders with entrepreneurial skills.

Graduates of our program have a wide range of career opportunities available to them. They can pursue roles as telecommunication technologists, network engineers, wireless communication specialists, data analysts, project managers, and more. The program also provides a solid foundation for further studies at the postgraduate level.

Telecommunication technology has presented numerous career opportunities, both professional and semi-professional, worldwide. Study conducted by the World Economic Forum, careers in Electronic Telecommunications are listed among the critical occupations needed by the world today and in the future. Similarly, Talent Corp's Critical Occupation List includes Telecommunication Engineers (No. MASCO: 2153) as one of the critical careers required in Malaysia. Lulus peperiksaan General Certificate of Education Advanced Level (GCE A-Level) Examination (UK Examination System) atau International Baccalaureate (IB) dengan mendapat sekurang-kurangnya 3 mata dalam sekali pengambilan. (Bagi negara yang tidak mengikuti sistem peperiksaan UK atau sistem International Baccalaureate (IB), pertimbangan kemasukan akan berdasarkan kesetaraan pada jadual kelayakan oleh Agensi Kelayakan Malaysia (MQA).

Telah melengkapkan sekurang-kurangnya DUA BELAS (12) tahun pengajian.

(a) Keperluan Bahasa

And

Passed the Malaysian Higher School Certificate Examination (STPM) with a GPA of at least 2.00 and at least:

· Grade C (NGMP 2.00) General Studies subject;

and

· Grade C (NGMP 2.00) in two (2) other subjects

And

Obtained at least Level 2 (Band 2) in Malaysian University English Test (MUET) on a date no more than Two (2) years from the date of admission.

Post Matriculation/Foundation

And

Passed KPM/Asasi Sains UM/UiTM Foundation Matriculation with at least CGPA 2.00 ;

And

Obtained at least Level 2 (Band 2) in Malaysian University English Test (MUET) on a date no more than Two (2) years from the date of admission.

Graduate Diploma/Equivalent

Passed the Malaysian Certificate of Education (SPM)/Equivalent with honours in the Malay/Malaysian Language subject or Malay/Malaysian Language Honors July Paper and passed in the History subject (SPM 2013 and above) in the SPM examination ;

And

Have a Diploma or other qualifications recognised as equivalent by the Malaysian Government and approved by the University Senate;

Passed the Malaysian Higher School Certificate Examination (STPM) in 2017 or earlier with at least CGPA 2.00 and Grade C (NGMP 2.00) in three (3) subjects, including General Studies ;

And

Earned at least Level 2 (Band 2) in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET).

University General Conditions

Passed the General Certificate of Education Advanced Level (GCE A- Level) Examination (UK Examination System) or International Baccalaureate (IB) with at least 3 points in one intake. (For countries that do not follow the UK examination system or the International Baccalaureate (IB), admission consideration will be based on equivalence on the qualification table by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA).

And

Have completed at least TWELVE (12) years of study.

(b) Language Requirements

Get at least a Score of 500 in the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) and Band 5.0 in International English Language Testing System (IELTS) [For GCE A- Level and International Diploma students Baccalaureate only] on a date not more than Two (2) years from the date of admission.
